Santa Monica Walking Tours

Guided, exciting and informative “daily” Santa Monica Walking Tours in Downtown Santa Monica, Main Street, Mid-City and/or Montana Avenue. All walking tours honor the greatness of our popular city by the beach! Energetic, year-round, and varied. Examples of tours: shopping tours, walking fitness, “talk walks,” etc. all highlighting Santa Monica’s hottest stores, restaurants, art, entertainment, sustainability, city involvement, new happenings, special events and history with entertaining stories and surprises designed to create lasting memories. Our walking tours promote fitness as well. Individuals/groups/private parties are welcome. Tours are approximately 2 hours long. The “Santa Monica Walking Tours” are “open hours” by schedule via phone or email.

Locations vary and are based on each tour.

Santa Monica Airport Antique Market

Located next to the Museum of Flying. Occurs every 1st and 4th sunday of every month.

Main Street Farmers Market

The Sunday Main Street Farmers Market features some of California’s freshest produce plus prepared foods from local Main Street restaurants as well as artisanal foods prepared with ingredients sourced from California farmers – you can’t get more local than that!  Also, enjoy musical entertainment from a variety of featured weekly bands, face painting, balloon designs, and bi-weekly cooking demonstrations featuring local produce.

Gallery at Annenberg Community Beach House

As part of the City’s ongoing commitment to provide cultural programming, a rotating exhibition program has been created to showcase the work of local artists, artist groups, photographers, and curators—both emerging and established. Exhibitions are programmed a year in advance through an open call for group exhibitions issued each year in May.

Free Historical Walking Tours of the Santa Monica Pier

These tours feature fascinating stories about how the Pier has changed over 100 years, the apartments above the Merry Go-Round, hidden nooks and crannies of the Pier, the original Muscle Beach, celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe & Charlie Chaplin and even a certain fishing boat captain who became immortalized as a world-famous cartoon character.

There is no need to book or RSVP unless you are requesting a private group tour. Interested visitors need only to show up at the Pier Shop at the historic Merry Go-Round Building before the tour time and look for the blue-shirted Pier Docents.

Tours begin at 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Marion Davies Guest House & Docent Tours

Discover the rich history of the Beach House with Santa Monica Conservancy docents. There’s no charge to visit, and reservations are never required. Tours are free, last approximately 30 minutes, and accommodate up to 15 people. Drop-in between 11am – 2pm when docents are available to share history, answer questions and provide brief tours. Scheduled tours are available Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday at 11am, 12pm and 1pm*.

Santa Monica Playhouse Presents: Finding Belle

A host of enchanting fairytale characters are unceremoniously plunked into 2017. Cinderella, Snowhite, Little Bo Peep and even Mother Goose confront the mysteries of modern living as they try to find the lost Belle, save the fairytale world, and prove that you’re never too old to believe in imagination, happily-ever-afters, and mostly importantly, yourself.

Santa Monica Playhouse presents a world premiere Rudie-DeCarlo Family Theatre Musical Matinee for Kids 2 to 102, giving us a whole new perspective on fantasy and reality, sharing and caring, and the importance of family togetherness. Audience participation adds to the enjoyment!

Shark Sundays at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium

Don’t miss this favorite weekly feature at the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. At 3:30 p.m. every Sunday, you can watch and listen to an informative presentation about these often misunderstood animals while our horn and swell sharks cruise around the tank, noses out of the water, mouths open, anticipating the meal to come. Expect a splash of seawater if you’re close enough to the exhibit. Everyone is invited to make a fun shark craft to take home.

Oscar Fundraiser Viewing Party

Each year, “Owlies” are honored in relation to the Women’s Day theme for their commitment to the community. Past “Owlies” include Jennifer Garner, Bettina Duval, Mallika Chopra, Santa Monica Chief of Police Jacqueline Seabrooks, and Channel 11 news anchor and Wednesday’s Child Founder Christine Devine.
